What a great conference! The Capital Region Human Resource Association (CRHRA) boasted its greatest turnout to date for its annual one-day conference. Hosting more than 250 attendees made up of the Capital Region’s Human Resource professionals, CRHRA offered a dynamite lineup of speakers and courses aimed at inspiring, educating, and taking the Human Resource profession to new levels of strategic impact.
The conference kicked-off with an inspiring and informative presentation by international presenter and workforce development advisor, Bruce Tulgan, of Rainmaker Thinking. Bruce covered a wide array of workforce topics, honing in on the shifting demographic of Baby Boomers exiting the workforce and Millennials rising up the ranks into leadership positions. Some great sound bytes made the conference twitter feed #CRHRA2016.
John Bagyi Esq., SPHR of Bond Schoeneck and King was a welcomed returning speaker to the CRHRA ODC Lineup, delivering his signature Legal and Employment Update. His lunch keynote address, How to Tackle the Most Common Leave and Reasonable Accommodation Challenges, oriented HR professionals to looming regulatory shifts and their implications. Bagyi called specific attention to the FLSA and the need for employers to begin immediately tracking employee hours for those making the shift from exempt to non-exempt status, and working with legal counsel to move toward compliance now rather than later. His report set the expectation for a final regulatory ruling in July of 2016.

All in all it was a wonderful event. Hats off to our wine-raffle winner, Katie Rhia of Hoffman Carwash. Hope she made it safely to her car with the prize. There were a lot of people eyeballing that basket.
In the meantime, if you attended, see if you can find yourself in our CRHRA Conference photo album.
